Access Control Solution
Physical Access Control to the secure areas requires technological solutions so to manage the access logs, access privileges of individuals, and even access time. The University currently deployed smart card based access control solution in offices, library, laboratories, classrooms, meeting rooms, and even campus to ensure only appropriate users could gain physical access to the secure area, and no unauthorised entry by known or unknown people. The Computing Services Centre (CSC) provides consultancy, design, and implementation services to facilities owners so to ease their day-to-day maintenance on the access rights. Provided solutions may include the use of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for validating access against databases such as student, HR, booking, etc. Newer technologies are being explored such as QR codes, smart-phone based access using NFC or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and active BLE beacons.
