Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is an integrated collaboration platform which works like WhatsApp and WeChat with CityU-assigned Microsoft 365 (M365) account to facilitate both internal and external collaboration. You may chat with your colleagues in the form of text, audio, and video, share files with colleagues, as well as collaboratively edit the same document in real-time without sending the file back and forth through email.
CityU users are recommended to download and install Teams client for their devices. The login account will be the M365 account in the form of eid@um.cityu.edu.hk for staff, and eid-c@my.cityu.edu.hk for students.
Microsoft Teams is a very handy and convenient tool with popularity and usage gaining every day. However, it has a steep learning curve for end users, especially on the way that it integrated with OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online. For example, the "files" tab in Chat is linked with OneDrive for Business, while the "files" tab in a Team site is linked with a SharePoint Online site. As such, users are strongly recommended to take a training course online to under what is Teams, Team, Channel, Chat, etc.
