Robotic Process Automation
UiPath is a Robotic Process Automation tool used for Windows desktop automation (including web browsers on Microsoft Windows) by emulating the mouse events and keyboard strokes. It automates repetitive and redundant tasks and minimises human intervention. However, the applications developed on this proprietary software platform are not easily ported to other platforms. Only administrative staff of departments are eligible for the service. Due to the limited availability of licenses, all requests for using the service will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis for a fixed time period (renewable if resources allow, such as room booking). Moreover, the pricing model for the license is on an annual subscription basis which is usually renewed at the end of every June by the Finance Office.
