Chris Choi Yan-lok finds immense joy in developing games. After seven years’ hard work, he launched the world's first rotation control mobile rhythm game. Incorporating motion control elements, players tap and rotate their phones according to the rhythm. A trailer for the game has received overwhelming positive feedback, catching the attention of a major game publisher who has agreed to launching the game commercially.

Chris's passion for game development began in childhood. He started by playing computer games and later delved into programming. In secondary school, he went beyond PowerPoint presentations and created an actual game instead, which thrilled his classmates.

During his HKDSE preparation, Chris dreamt up a game to help students memorise model essays. The game went down really well, motivating him to enhance it even after his exams.

Studying at CityUHK was straightforward for Chris due to his solid programming foundation. He has had lots of opportunities to engage with the game industry, including working at corporations and attending seminars. Chris has also worked part-time for overseas organisations and participated in long-distance game development projects. Not only that, an internship one Christmas allowed him to programme interactive installations for a shopping mall, improving his skills and business knowledge.

Launching the rotation control mobile rhythm game is a huge first step in Chris's career, and he plans to continue running the game while pursuing his studies. His ultimate goal is to develop high-quality games that touch the hearts of players.
