City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is a home for our students to unleash their full potential in addition to academic excellence, with extensive learning opportunities and resources provided for their all-round development. Office of the Vice-President (Student Affairs) is committed to offering quality student development activities and support services, creating a multi-cultural learning environment for our future leaders.
To facilitate CityU’s better planning of student development activities aiming at students’ interests and needs, we pioneered Central Repository on Student Development Activities (CRESDA) and the system for Quality Assurance (Student Development) in the university setting in Hong Kong in 2016 and 2020 respectively.
With the launch of CRESDA, the first online central repository to record student development activities among universities in Hong Kong, students can track their soft skills development systematically and identify attributes for boosting their employability. The data captured by CRESDA provides a complete picture for evidence-based strategic planning in student development. With the streamlined assessment process and data analytics on Quality Assurance (Student Development) e-Platform, it enables CityU to apply the same rigours of quality assurance, as with academic programmes, for student development activities, and improve the planning and execution of future student development activities in a regular and timely manner.
Keeping pace with the digital age, CityU has transformed a dynamic range of student services online, including employability enhancement initiatives, counselling, community service programmes, sports training and hall activities. Technological advancement empowers us to deliver outstanding student services to international talent as a world-leading university beyond time zones and boundaries.
Apart from pursuing professionalism in student learning experience, we also strive to promote CityU’s vision and contribution to student success among the community through the media.
While the world is changing at lightning speed, we will embrace opportunities, meet new challenges and continue to achieve our mission to nurture future generations of professionals.
