CityU is committed to creating a caring campus and safeguarding the mental wellness of the CityU Community. In addition to providing counselling services, CityU nurtures Caring Leaders through Caring League, while promoting inclusive, caring and supportive culture via various workshops and annual events, including Inclusive Campus Activities, IDEA Campaign and CityU Cares for YOU.

CityU Cares for YOU takes place in the period when students are under the stress of examinations and assignments every semester since 2014. The campaign aims at promoting positive attitude, cultivating mutual support among students, strengthening students' resilience and reinforcing university-students relationship. It features a variety of activities, such as positive psychology exhibition, snack corner and photo booth. Souvenirs including fresh fruit, mascot-shaped toys or stress balls are distributed to encourage students to face stress and emotional issues positively.

CityU designs a mascot for CityU Cares for YOU every year and distributes mascot-shaped toys or stress balls during the campaign to spread caring messages to fellow students and staff.

IDEA Campaign is an annual event organised by CityU, which illuminates the determination to enlighten the CityU Community on the “Awareness” of “Inclusion”, “Diversity” and “Equity” on campus. Apart from the Kick-off Ceremony, the IDEA Campaign consists of informative game booths, an exhibition for different Special Educational Needs (SEN) groups and various workshops. These activities aim to raise the CityU Community’s awareness of SEN and boost the caring spirit within the campus.

CityU encourages and subsidies student-initiated inclusive campus activities, with the aims of enriching the university life of students with SEN, enhancing students’ understanding of SEN and promoting inclusive culture. Successful activities include “Handmade Crystal Soap Workshop”, “Make Your Painted Swiss Roll Workshop” and “Inclusive Circle Painting Workshop”.

Caring League, a one-year student leadership training programme organised by CityU since 2016, aims to promote a caring and supportive culture within the campus. Caring League consists of three student teams: Inclusion Ambassador, Peer Support Fellow and Psychological Wellness Ambassador. Through comprehensive training provided by counsellors and services in diversified activities, Caring Leaders can learn effective peer helping skills, develop a strong caring and serving attitude with psychological wellness knowledge acquired.
