As one of the most dynamic young universities ranked top 50 worldwide, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is dedicated to nurturing future leaders with the interdisciplinary education and providing excellent student development services in the fast-changing world.
To empower our students and achieve their full potential, CityU has devoted substantial resources for a wide array of signature student development initiatives and student services, creating a supportive campus with diversified learning experiences. Students’ global vision, future careers and personal growth can be cultivated by applying their knowledge to address the global challenges and acquiring the transferable skill sets needed for the new generation.
With the aim to achieve internationalisation and foster a multicultural campus environment, CityU attracts international talents with global outreach initiatives such as Non-local Student Athletes Admission Scheme, and becomes the “Most International University” in 2020*. To strengthen the intercultural learning among the local and non-local students, a number of cultural and community initiatives have been organised for students to build their global citizenship, including Arts Festival, Community Engagement Programme and Service Outreach Experience Programme.
To support the graduates’ employment prospects, CityU has proactively established a series of career preparation initiatives to help our students succeed in the workplace, for examples: CAReer Launch Scheme, Careers Festival and Employer’s Luncheon. The concerted effort in enhancing students’ employability has been recognised globally by Universum Talent 2018 Survey, which ranked 2 nd and 3 rd place for the Best Career Services Satisfaction and Best University Brand Perception.
Promoting the well-being of the CityU Community has also come to the University’s priorities. In recognition of the continuous effort in creating a culture of wellness on campus, CityU has been awarded the Gold Campus Award for 2020 under the prestigious international Exercise is Medicine® On Campus programme, after winning Silver Campus Award in 2017 and 2019.
CityUnique presents a collection of CityU students’ achievements and stories from 2015 to 2020, with collaborative student support and services from the University, highlighting signature programmes in areas such as employability enhancement, community services, counselling and mental health, sport and wellness, as well as student engagement and cultural integration.
Beyond 2020, we will further elevate our world-class education under the circumstances and lead the student development to the next phase, refining the strategy with technology-enriched elements to meet the expectation of students from Generation Z.
