Sports Facilities Booking & Information (SFBI) System

The objective of the SFBI System is to provide an easy and smart booking system and providing our users with an excellent booking experience to make online booking of the CityUHK & Joint Sports Centre sports facilities in advance.

 

Accessing the SFBI

Please be reminded that you must logon the system with your EID and password on the Single Sign-On (SSO) function after clicking the “Log in” button on the SFBI logon page.

 

Function on the SFBI Web Booking

 

1. Home (To make new booking):

You may reserve one session per day of each sports facility up to 7 days in advance via this function. All bookings should be confirmed and paid immediately via CityUHK Pay. You should receive an email notification from CityUHK Pay regarding your payment and also a confirmation email from SFBI System about your paid session. Users receiving a confirmation email from the SFBI System on the paid booking sessions would be recognized as the ONLY confirmed booking of that session.

 

2. My Booking:

You may view a detailed summary of all your bookings via this function with filters.

 

3. Profile:

You may set up 3 most preferred facilities for a maximum of 3 days within the week to be displayed on the Home page for quick access and booking upon login.

 

4. New Sports Facilities for Online Booking:

The following new sports facilities at Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre will be available for online booking by CityUHK full-time staff and full-/part-time students:

o Badminton
o Pickleball
o Indoor Basketball
o Indoor Volleyball
o Practice Gymnasium 2

 

5. On-the-day Guest Ticket Purchase (effective from 25 March 2026):

Users can purchase up to four on-the-day guest tickets by:

  1. Logging in to SFBI.
  2. Clicking “My Guest Ticket.”
  3. Clicking “Purchase Guest Ticket.”
  4. Filling in the required information.
  5. Settling payment via CityUHK Pay.
  6. Receiving a link to retrieve the relevant dynamic QR code via email.

 

6. Early Release of Bookings (effective from 4 May 2026)

Users can release their booking at least two calendar days (no public holidays in between) before the booked session in advance by:

  1. Logging in to SFBI.
  2. Clicking “My Booking.”
  3. Clicking “Early Release” under a confirmed booking.

Users can also alter an early-released booking for another available timeslot within 21 days by:

  1. Logging in to SFBI.
  2. Clicking “My Booking.”
  3. Clicking “Alter Booking” under an early-released booking.
  4. Booking another available timeslot.

*Important: If the session is not altered within 21 days, it will be automatically forfeited with no refund.

 

7. Late Cancellation of Bookings (effective from 4 May 2026)

Users can late cancel their booking (after the early-release period) by:

  1. Logging in to SFBI.
  2. Clicking “My Booking.”
  3. Clicking “Late Cancellation" under a confirmed booking.

*However, please note that a late cancellation means forfeiting the booking and the associated booking fee. Users who commit "Late Cancellation" or "No Show" for an accumulation of 3 times within 30 calendar days will be penalised from making online booking privileges. Users under the penalty period can make sports facility bookings in person at the Sports Centre Service Counters.

 

8. Penalties for No-Show and Late Cancellation (effective from 4 May 2026)

Any user who fails to use a booked facility within 15 minutes after the session start time will be considered a No-Show. Cancelling a booking within 2 calendar days of your session, will be recorded as a Late Cancellation. In both cases, the booking will be treated as forfeited, and the booking fee will not be refunded.

Email reminders will be sent to the user whenever a No-Show is recorded.

 

Users who commit “Late Cancellation” or “No Show” for an accumulation of 3 times within 30 calendar days will be penalised from making online booking privileges. 

Users under the 14-day penalty period can make sports facility bookings in person at the Sports Centre Service Counters.

 

 

Eligible User

All CityUHK Full-time staff and Full/Part-time students are eligible to make online bookings.

 

Time of Service

The web booking function would be available every day from 08:00-23:59 except Wednesday from 08:00-22:59 and closed on public holidays.

 

Booking Confirmation with Online Payment

All bookings are now directly paid online via the CityUHK Pay. Users are recommended to have your Visa Card, Mastercard, Unionpay Card and QuickPass, Apply Pay, FPS, Alipay (HK and Mainland China Wallet), WeChat Pay or PayMe ready in hand before you start your booking.

 

All bookings are considered to be confirmed once you received the booking confirmation from SFBI. All bookings are now directly paid online via the CityUHK Pay.

Each payment process (once invoked the “Pay” button) must be completed within a 15-min timeframe. If the payment process exceeded the timeframe, the SFBI System will automatically consider the session unsuccessful and release that booking session after.
 

For unsuccessful bookings or delayed payments due to technical issues, please email sope@cityu.edu.hk with the relevant payment documents attached for inquiry and follow-up, or contact our office directly at 3442-8025 during office hours. The Physical Education Section will verify each transaction and booking details, and arrange a replacement session at the same facility. Users can use that replacement session to make a booking on the SFBI System within 21 days without further payment. Check-in

Users are reminded to bring their CityUHK ID card and show it to our staff for verification and check-in on or before your booked session. Any booked sessions not checked-in by the user would be released for booking by walk-in users after the 15th minute of each hour.
