Sports Team Year Tee Design Contest
We are calling for the design of CityUHK Sports Team Year Tee 2024-25 now!!
The CityUHK Sports Teams Year Tee Design Contest is now open for entries until Tuesday, 23 Aug 2024 5:00 PM.
All CityUHK student-athletes are encouraged to submit an entry for a chance to have their design outfitted on the 2024-25 CityUHK Sports Teams Year Tee and win a smartwatch that costs over $1,000. Design submissions should be made in any artistic medium, so long as the entry is original.
Entry Qualifications
- - All 2024-25 CityUHK Sports Team Members (reserved members included) are eligible.
- - Design submissions should be made in any artistic medium, so long as the entry is original.
- - Each student can submit one design ONLY.
- - NO revisions can be made.
Entry Requirements
- - Design must be consistent with the competition theme: “Unleash Your Beast”
(Please also include “Be The Best That We Can Be” into the design)
- - Please use the full name "City University of Hong Kong" or "CityUHK", but not "CityU HK" with the space. Please DO NOT use the abbreviated names "CityU" and "城大" in the US.
- - Show the unique characters of the CityUHK Sports Team – how we deal with challenges; what
inspires us to pursue our dreams; sportsmanship, persistence & pursuance; the elements that represent us visually......
Submission
- - Save your design in PDF format
- - Your work should follow the requirements below:
- Introduction of the design in English or Chinese (max. 200 words)
- Maximum design size: A4 (210 mm x 297 mm), portrait or landscape
- Print: Digital colour printing (please submit both "Black & White" & "Multicolour" versions), only on the front side of the tee
- Maximum number of pages: 2
- Resolution: 300 dpi
- Colour of Tee: White
- Rename your design file to your full English name
- Maximum file size: 50MB
Designs containing abusive ideas, propaganda, or any elements which CityUHK deems inappropriate or that may negatively impact the University's branding and reputation are strictly prohibited.
Designs that violate these rules or infringe on copyright will be disqualified.
Shortlisted candidates are required to provide editable digital files (JPEG or AI).
Judging Criteria:
The Top 3 designs will be shortlisted by the selection panel, and all 2024-25 CityUHK Sports Team Members (reserved members included), coaches, managers, and SDS management will vote for their favorite from 28 Aug 2024 to 5:00 pm on 5 Sept 2024.
The top 3 designs will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to the theme
- Connection with CityUHK Sports Team
- Creativity and originality
- Visual Appeal
- Feasibility – the extent to which your design is technically adaptable for actual production
Coupled with online public voting, the Champion would be selected. Professional review and public voting each account for 50%.
Selection Panel:
The selection panel consists of CityUHK senior management, staff of SDS & PE Section and other selected members of CityUHK.
Prizes
- Award winners of the competition will be announced at the end of the event and will be presented with a smartwatch.
Online public voting and Announcement
Shortlisted designs will be sent to all 2024-25 CityUHK Sports Team Members (reserved members included) on
28 Aug 2024 and end at 5:00 pm on 5 Sept 2024. Results will be announced in Mid-September 2024.

- By entering the contest, you agree to publish your submission on the CityUHK website, social media platforms, and in-stores for voting, promotions and showcase. Participants must agree to and accept all stated rules and the decisions of the organiser.
- The copyright of the submitted designs will belong to the PE Section, SDS, CityUHK. The PE Section, SDS, and CityUHK reserves all rights to use the designs at university events and for other purposes.
- The rules and regulations of the “CityUHK Sports Teams Year Tee Design Contest” are subject to change without notice. The university accepts no liability for any loss or damage, howsoever arising from any use or misuse of or reliance on any information in this contest.
- The PE Section, SDS, CityUHK reserves the right to award decisions and final interpretation of all terms and details of the competition.

1. All personal information provided in the competition registration form (printed or online version) will only be used for the following purposes for CityUHK Sports Teams Year Tee Design Contest (hereinafter referred to as the "Contest"):
- Register participating works and confirm participants’ qualifications;
- communicate with participants;
- Announce competition results and award awards;
- To identify participants in the publication, printing, exhibition, promotion and uploading of competition entries on websites and social media;
- Distribute competition and activity information related to the conference;
- Other purposes related to the contest; and
- Relevant purposes mentioned in sub-paragraphs (i) to (v) above.
2. It is purely voluntary for participants to provide personal information in the Contest. If you fail to provide sufficient information, the PE Section, SDS, CityUHK may not be able to process your registration or confirm your qualification to participate.
3. To carry out the above purposes, the personal data you provide in the registration form may be transferred to the co-organiser and/or other relevant professional associations. Access to personal data Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486), you have the right to obtain and correct the personal data you used for registration. If necessary, please notify the PE Section, SDS, CityUHK in writing.
