In line with the Discovery-enriched Curriculum of the University, Calligraphy Connections Project (CCP) provides students an innovative extra-curricular pathway to improve their information literacy abilities through creative works and through access and active engagement with undervalued historical East Asian texts by leveraging their interest in Calligraphy Arts, and its emphasis on embracing and sharing the cultural diversity of Sinosphere beyond Disciplines, Institutions, Borders, Languages, Senses and Technology.
CCP is a two-stage patrons engagement model which is comprised of Stage I: Learning Engagement through Content Creation and Stage II: Cross-border Community Engagement.
In Stage I, CCP will co-develop the following learning engagement programs with the CityU students calligraphy club Calligraphantasy, local and overseas universities and CityU’s Department of Linguistics and Translation: Tutorials, Calligraphy Competitions and Poetic Heritage Translation Awards respectively.
In Stage II, CCP will co-develop the following cross-border community engagement programs with Calligraphantasy, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong, Korean Cultural Centre in Hong Kong and local and overseas universities: Workshops and Online Seminars and Roving Exhibitions.
This webpage will demonstrate how students can contribute to knowledge creation and preservation from historical East Asian texts collection that they rarely encounter in the curriculum.
