Students from Newman Catholic College visited the College of Science on 26 November to get familiarise themselves with the University and were warmly greeted by faculty and staff members from the College, the Office of the Provost and the Admissions Office.
Two representatives from the College’s Student Chapter, Alex Cheung Chun Hei and Raza Ali Jatoi, hosted a sharing session on university life by sharing their special learning and internship experiences, as well as different opportunities offered by CityU. They were also given some tips on choosing the right major subject and good time management during university study.
Students and their Principal, Mr. Wa Piu Ng, also participated in an interesting hand cream making workshop, conducted by Dr. Alex Wong, College Undergraduate Outreach Coordinator and Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry. Under his guidance, students started DIY their hand cream by heating and mixing different ingredients including jojoba oil and sakura fragrance together, and the helpers assisted them in blending the mixture with a blender. All participants enjoyed the workshop and were satisfied to bring home their DIY hand cream.
