On 13 February, the College of Science (CSCI) management team met with the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) delegation to discuss and explore further collaboration opportunities.
FHKI’s Chairman, Mr Steve Chuang; Deputy Chairmen, Mr Jude Chow, Mr Peter Shum and Mr Wallace Wong; Director General Ms Bonnie Chan and nine experienced industrialists who serve as Mentors of CSCI’s Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT) Programme were warmly received by our Dean Professor Xin Wang.
Professor Daniel Ho, Professor Alex Wong and Professor Denver Li, CSCI’s three CSCI Associate Deans, together with Director of Flagship Programme Professor Andy Siu, Student Affairs Coordinator Professor Jon Lo, and Undergraduate Outreach Coordinator Professor Xiaosheng Zhuang also joined the lunch gathering.
Since CSCI established the GREAT programme in 2021/2022, FHKI has always been a close partner of the College. GREAT is one of the Flagship Programmes offered by CityUHK, aiming to nurture undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in scientific research or starting business ventures that involve using new scientific discoveries and innovative technologies. FHKI Chairman, Deputy Chairmen and the nine experienced industrialists from FHKI who joined this lunch gathering all are serving as GREAT Mentors now, providing their valuable entrepreneurship advice to our GREAT students.
Both parties look forward to future cooperation in arranging internships and visits, promoting STEM education, and transferring scientific research achievements, with the shared goal of nurturing innovative talents.
