Training on Research Integrity for Research Students

(For research students admitted in 2018/19 and thereafter)

To cultivate good research practice, the Board of Graduate Studies approved that all research students admitted in 2018/19 and thereafter are required to take a compulsory online training course on research integrity, namely Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Programme). This course is developed by the University of Miami with web-based training materials cover a number of key regulatory and ethical areas.

The University has subscribed a course entitled "Responsible Conduct of Research" under CITI Programme. This basic course contains modules that cover core norms, principles, regulations and rules governing the practice of research.

Research students admitted in 2018/19 and thereafter, are required to complete modules as stipulated by their Schools/Departments as stated in the tables below. The CITI Programme forms part of the assessment requirements for research students admitting 2018/19 and thereafter. Research students are required to pass the CITI programme on Research Integrity within 12 months of study, and latest by 18 months of study. Students who fail to obtain a passing score within 18 months of study, will be deemed as fail in the qualifying assessment and their studentship, if applicable, could be discontinued.

Students are required to achieve a minimum passing score of 80% for all core modules. If students want to improve a score on a module, they may repeat any module to move your score towards 100% correct before generation of completion report. Scores obtained thereafter will not be reflected on the completion report.

To undertake the CITI Programme, please click here and register under the organization name "City University of Hong Kong". You may also make reference to the registration guideline obtainable from here.

Please upload the Completion Report to Planner and seek approval from supervisors. The My Reports page will allow you to access any completion reports you have earned.
