We are thrilled to announce that two esteemed SEE faculty members have been awarded the “RGC Senior Research Fellow” and “RGC Research Fellow” respectively in the Senior Research Fellow Scheme (SRFS) and Research Fellow Scheme (RFS) (2024/25) established by the Research Grant Council (RGC).

Prof. Wen-Xiong WANG, Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies), was granted the title “RGC Senior Research Fellow” with the project named “Biokinetics, Trafficking, and Biodynamics of Microplastics and Nanoplastics in Aquatic Animals”.

Prof. Edwin TSO, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach), was conferred “RGC Research Fellow” with the project named “Towards Energy-Efficient and Decarbonized Buildings: A Study on Developing Building Skin Materials with Control Optimization”.

RGC SRFS and RFS are operated on a regular basis to provide sustained support and relief from teaching and administrative duties to exceptionally outstanding academics in UGC-funded universities to facilitate their research efforts and promote research excellence. In each round of the yearly exercise, ten places encompassing all academic disciplines are awarded under each scheme. Each SRFS and RFS awardees will receive a fellowship grant at around HK8 million and HK$5.3 million per award respectively.

Warmest congratulations to Prof. Wen-Xiong WANG and Prof. Edwin TSO!
