SEE Staff and Students Visited City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) and the Ancient Nanshe Village

On 15 March 2025, more than 40 members of the SEE community—including faculty members, staff, as well as postgraduate and undergraduate students—led by our Dean, Prof. Kenneth Leung, embarked on an enriching visit to City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) and the Ancient Nanshe Village. The trip provided valuable insights into CityUHK (Dongguan)’s dynamic learning environment and state-of-the-art research facilities, which foster innovation and collaboration.

Established in April 2024, CityUHK (Dongguan) is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research and driving industrial transformation by bridging gaps in cutting-edge technologies. Upholding CityUHK’s principles of “Integrating Teaching, Research, and Innovation” and “Innovating into the Future,” CityUHK (Dongguan) is committed to pioneering advancements in these critical areas.

Beyond the campus tour, the visit also included a cultural exchange at the Ancient Nanshe Village, a historical settlement dating back to the Song Dynasty. Preserved for over 800 years, this Lingnan clan village showcases the region’s rich agricultural heritage and traditional architectural beauty. As a renowned Chinese historical and cultural site and a national 4A tourist attraction, Nanshe Ancient Village offered the delegation a truly immersive and memorable experience.

We extend our sincere gratitude to CityUHK (Dongguan)’s faculty members and staff, especially Prof. LI Yuan, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Development), for their warm hospitality in making this visit both insightful and enjoyable.
