Prof. Kenneth Leung Reappointed as Chairman of Food and Environmental Hygiene Advisory Council
The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is proud to announce that our Dean, Prof. Kenneth Leung, JP, has been reappointed as Chairman of the Advisory Council by the Hong Kong Government. This prestigious appointment reflects Prof. Leung’s exceptional contributions to environmental science and public health.
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Advisory Council is a non-statutory body established to advise the government on critical issues related to food safety, environmental hygiene, veterinary public health, and green burial promotion. Prof. Leung’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding the council’s efforts to address these pressing challenges.
Prof. Leung’s reappointment, effective from 1 April 2025, marks his continued commitment to advancing food and environmental hygiene policies. His expertise in environmental toxicology and marine pollution has earned him international recognition, including his role as Director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution at CityUHK.
