Prof. Edwin Tso and a SEE Alumnus received the Silver Award at the Hong Kong Green Innovations Award (HKGIA) in 2023

On 2 December 2024, a team led by our esteemed Associate Dean (Internationalization and Outreach), Prof. Edwin Tso, and including SEE alumnus Mr. Cheung Tim Yiu, received the Silver Award for the Electricity-free Cooling Technology developed by i2Cool Limited. This technology startup was incubated by City University of Hong Kong's HK Tech 300 and recognized at the Hong Kong Green Innovations Award (HKGIA). This accolade is part of the 2023 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and celebrates their exceptional contributions to environmental protection.

The HKAEE acknowledges organizations that have showcased outstanding environmental performances within their respective sectors. Key assessment criteria focus on green leadership, program effectiveness, and partner synergy. The Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards (HKGIA) - announced simultaneously - aim to inspire local organizations to tackle environmental challenges with innovative solutions that benefit the environment.

This recognition highlights the remarkable achievements of the SEE team in the realm of green innovation, aligning with the vision and mission of SEE at City University of Hong Kong. The school is dedicated to nurturing students with innovative ideas and providing them with the tools necessary to translate research outcomes into tangible, commercially viable products that can make a real-world impact.
