“Green Hydrogen-Powered Off-Grid Energy-Water Station (Micro-Grid)” Project funded by Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF)
We are delighted to announce that Professor Alicia AN’s Innovation and Technology Fund Support Programme Partnership Research Programme project, titled “Green Hydrogen-Powered Off-Grid Energy-Water Station (Micro-Grid)”, has been approved for funding with a budget of HKD 5,999,790 plus provisions for Postdoctoral researchers over three years. The total funding will be about HKD 12 million.
As the Principal Coordinator (PC) of this innovative project, Prof. AN will collaborate with five other Principal Investigators (PIs) from the School of Energy and Environment, namely Prof. Yun Hau Ng, Prof. Jason Lam, Prof. Shauhrat Chopra, Prof. Patrick Sit, and Prof. Chunhua Liu. Together, this esteemed team will work on developing a green hydrogen-powered off-grid energy-water mobile station, designed to address the emerging water and energy crises while combating the adverse effects of climate change.
By harnessing the power of green hydrogen, the team endeavors to create an innovative solution that will contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. The mobile station will provide essential energy and water services, even in remote locations, catering to the increasing demand and ensuring a reliable supply for communities affected by water scarcity and limited access to electricity.
The SEE applauds Prof. Alicia AN for her exceptional achievement and looks forward to witnessing the groundbreaking advancements and positive impact that her research will bring. This project is a testament to the School’s commitment to fostering innovation and addressing critical global challenges through cutting-edge research and collaboration.
