Fruitful Recruitment Trip to Indonesia Brings Promising PhD Candidates
Our Dean, Professor Kenneth Leung, JP, along with Professor Fatwa Abdi, Professor Theodora Nah, and Professor Edwin Tso, visited three top universities in Indonesia from 18 to 22 February 2025. The purpose of the visit was to recruit top students for our PhD programme through the Diversity/Fast Track Programme of the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies (SGS).

We are pleased to announce that we successfully interviewed 13 top students from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Airlangga University (UNAIR), and the University of Indonesia (UI). Tentative conditional offers have been extended to one top student from each of these three universities. These offers are subject to final approval by the SGS and satisfactory English test results.

During the visit, we also had productive meetings with faculty members from these universities. We initiated discussions on potential research collaborations and explored opportunities for student exchanges and summer courses for our CityUHK students. Additionally, we will be organizing online workshops with faculty members of UI in the near future to further strengthen our collaboration and identify specific areas for joint efforts.
We are excited to nurture the next generation of innovators and sustainability leaders—shaping a brighter, greener future together with people around the world!
