Eighteen SEE faculty members ranked top 2% of the world’s most highly cited scientists
According to metrics compiled by Stanford University and the updated data published on 10 October 2022, eighteen faculty members of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) are listed among the top 2% of the world’s most highly cited scientists (i.e., top 2% in the world in their own areas of specialty), that equates to around 50% of the School’s entire faculty body. This exciting news reflects our faculty’s high academic standards and excellent research performance. This year’s 18 top 2% scientists from SEE are, in alphabetical order, Dr. Alicia An, Professor Chak K. Chan, Professor Johnny Chan, Professor Guohua Chen, Professor Alex Jen, Professor Alvin Lai, Professor Kenneth Leung, Professor Michael Leung, Dr. Carol Lin, Dr. Chunhua Liu, Professor Yun Hau Ng, Dr. Jin Shang, Dr. Edwin Tso, Professor Wen-Xiong Wang, Dr. Wei Wu, Professor Angus Yip, Dr. Lin Zhang and Professor Wen Zhou. We are proud that 12 of them are also on the career-long top 2% of the world’s most highly cited scientists list.
The metrics prepared by a team of experts from Stanford University identify the top-cited scientists who have demonstrated significant and broad influence, reflected in the publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers. This publicly available database created by the team provides continually updated information on the work of the world’s top scientists including standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator.
