博士生学术论坛踏入十周年
「第十届博士生学术论坛暨何稼楠学术会议奖学金颁奖典礼」6月2日至3日在合肥中国科学技术大学（中科大）举行。
这个年度论坛由香港城市大学（城大）周亦卿研究生院和中科大研究生院共同主办，让学生分享最新的研究成果。
今年的论坛共有来自四所大学共五十多名博士生参加，并邀请了三位学者担任主讲嘉宾，就各自领域的前沿研究作专题学术报告，他们是：上海交通大学江志斌教授、北京航空航天大学单光存教授，以及城大的刘丽丽博士。
中科大副校长张淑林教授和城大副校长（研究及科技）兼周亦卿研究生院院长吕坚教授担任论坛开幕礼主礼嘉宾，并颁发「何稼楠学术会议奖学金」予十名杰出博士生。
中科大与城大合作多年，至今已培养逾二百名博士研究生，他们在各自的领域取得卓越的成就。
5th Postgraduate Association of USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Centre
5th Postgraduate Association was inaugurated in April, 2012. Postgraduate Association was elected by students, with the aims to further the well-being of the students and to contribute to the development of the Centre through desirable and formal collective activities.

Orientation Ceremony in the USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Research Centre (Suzhou)
Professor Gregory Raupp, Vice-President (Research & Technology) and Dean of Graduate Studies, extended a warm welcome to students from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), who commenced their research studies under the joint PhD programme offered by USTC and CityU at the orientation ceremony held at the USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Research Centre (Suzhou) held on 30 August 2011.  This year, a new study model was launched. Among 31 new students, 21 of them will commence their study in Suzhou and so they can make use of the sophisticated laboratory setting in the Suzhou Research Centre. The remaining 10 new students under the non-laboratory based project team will continue their study in USTC in Hefei and go to the Hong Kong main campus next year, hoping that they will have more direct contact with their supervisors stationed in Hefei and in Hong Kong. |
 During the ceremony, Prof Raupp encouraged the new students to make new friends, study hard, develop social responsibilities and enhance the personal experience and professionalism. After that, Mr Lv Xianjin, a student representative from Department of Biology and Chemistry, shared his experience on living and studying in Suzhou. He also invited the new students to participate in the activities organized by the Student Association so as to establish a life-long relationship with their classmates. |
| The ceremony was followed by a tea reception in which students and their supervisors mingled and discussed the study plan together. |
4th USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Research Centre (Suzhou) Postgraduate Association

USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Research Centre (Suzhou) Work Retreat 2010
USTC-CityU Joint Advanced Research Centre (Suzhou) held its first work retreat on 28 December 2010 in the Qingcheng Oasis Business Club (清澄绿州商务会馆), with aims to discuss the long-term planning for the Suzhou Research Centre and foster greater mutual understanding among staff. All administrative, research as well as teaching staff gave a presentation on what had been achieved in 2010, problems encountered, recommendations for solving the problems, and new initiatives for the coming year.
During the half-day retreat, representatives from the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies (SGS), Prof Hui Yer-van, Associate Dean of SGS and Ms Millie Mark, School Secretary of SGS, exchanged views with the Suzhou staff on office and laboratory management and discussed ways to increase the sense of belonging among staff and students. Responses from the participants were positive and encouraging. It was decided that the work retreat for staff in Suzhou would be held every year.
