研究方向

Recent disastrous events have increased the awareness of rare events of high consequences; 1995 Kobe earthquakes and the subsequent fire damage and the collapse of the World Trade Center in the September 11 attach due to intense fire are examples. These events highlight the effects of man-made and environmental hazards to human and the built environment. They also reckon the importance of studying possible interactions among different events. There is a pressing need for understanding disasters and devising preventive, contingency and mitigation measures against them. The collaboration can make use of the strength of both the CityU’s Department of Building and Construction and the USTC State Key Laboratory of Fire Science.

围绕相关热灾害(工业过程火灾及有毒害气体泄漏等)的成灾机理及其预防控制技术进行基础与应用技术的研究,揭示相关热灾害过程的孕育、发生、发展的动力学演化机理,进而对这些热灾害过程进行风险评估、发展相应的预防措施。
