Maths Workshop for DSE Students 2023

On 11 March 2023, 40 current DSE candidates attended the Maths Workshop for DSE Students. The participants were invited based on their passion and interest in our undergraduate programme BSc in Computing Mathematics (BSCM) (JUPAS Code: JS1206). The workshop was organized by the Department of Mathematics and our current BSCM students.

At the beginning, our current BSCM students shared their experience and exam skills. They equipped the participants the skillsets to tackle the coming DSE Mathematics Examination. Followed by the programme introduction by Dr Lo, Associate Professor and Admission Tutor of BSCM. He mentioned the intake requirement, described the course structure, and outlined the career path for graduates. Finally, the 40 DSE candidates joined a 1-hour campus guided tour led by our current students to familiarize the university environment and future development.

All the attendants received a printed booklet of revision summary, which was prepared by our current BSCM students based on their experience and analysis on past exam papers. This cohort of young students suffered over two years of unprecedented challenges of the pandemic. We hope that this workshop will help them do well in the coming DSE exams.
