purpose of using social media while reading news is the least common purpose. A majority of respondents admitted that they were depressed due to insufficient “likes” for a post on Instagram. Most of the respondents agreed that doing exercise can reduce the time that they spend on social media because they are exhausted after exercising.

this study has proved that university students spend too much time on social media. It also provides us insights into combating social media addiction
