Last week, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Susan VandeWoude, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Distinguished Professor at Colorado State University during 14 - 15 November 2024.


On 14 November 2024, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) hosted an engaging annual conference focused on advancements in veterinary emergency and critical care. We were excited to welcome over 70 clinical partner veterinarians from the local veterinary hospitals, who contributed to lively discussions and networking opportunities.


A delegation from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) visited Nansha, Guangzhou on 4 November. The delegation met with local government officials and signed a cooperation agreement announcing the establishment of a joint research laboratory and an internship and entrepreneurship base in Nansha. This marks the beginning of a cooperation mechanism between Hong Kong and Nansha in the field of veterinary medicine, and academic and research exchanges between the two places.


As part of the CityUHK Alumni Homecoming Day, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) held its inaugural Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) Alumni Homecoming on 2 November 2024, uniting 40 alumni and current BVM students for a day of celebration and connection.


We extend our heartfelt congratulations to LIN Wing Man, Vivian, a Year 6 student in the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) programme, for being recognised as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Tertiary Students in Hong Kong for 2024.


The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) was thrilled to welcome a vibrant community of prospective applicants during the CityUHK Info Day on 5 October 2024. The energy was palpable as visitors explored our booths, engaging with faculty and current students who shared their passion for veterinary medicine and the life sciences. Throughout the day, our admissions booth buzzed with energy, featuring engaging exhibitions, admission talks and facility tours.


On 21 September 2024, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) proudly hosted its inaugural Graduate Students Research Gala.



City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has identified sustainability as a key strategic area across the entire institution. Reflecting this commitment, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) at CityUHK recently partnered with the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and two medical schools at local universities. This collaboration aims to promote sustainability and enhance public health through pandemic preparedness, underscoring CityUHK's dedication to fostering sustainable practices and improving health outcomes through local, mainland and global partnerships.
