Professor Alex Jen, Lee Shau Kee Chair Professor in Materials Science and also the Director of Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy, has been appointed as a member of HKSAR Government’s "Green Technology and Finance Development Committee", under the chairmanship of the Financial Secretary Mr. Paul Chan. This Committee will help promote faster and greater development of green technology and green finance in Hong Kong, as well as spearheading new goals and strategies for achieving carbon neutrality.

Professor Jen is honoured to serve on this Committee. He will leverage his expertise in sustainable green energy technology to help develop useful strategies for improving Hong Kong’s position in sustainable green technology and finance development to pave the way for net-zero carbon emissions.

Members of the Committee include representatives from relevant policy bureaux, departments and financial regulators, as well as 13 non-official members from the relevant industries, including Professor Jen.
