As part of the promotional outreach activities, Dean Chan led another College delegation comprising mathematician, chemists and physicists to Malaysia in September 2019.  During the 4-day trip, the delegation visited the University of Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and Universiti Sains Malaysia to meet with senior science faculty members and postgraduate students.  The Associate Dean (Education) also delivered two admission talks at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and St. Michael’s Institution to promote our interesting undergraduate programmes to high school students.

The successful delegation marked the commencement of our long term cooperation with the Malaysian institutions in the years to come as our faculty members have identified potential areas of research collaborations and student exchange opportunities with the Malaysian counterparts.  The College promotion also featured the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme and the CityU Science Summer Camp which aroused very favourable feedback.  Through the relationships established, we hope to see more Malaysian students joining the CityU community and more fruitful research collaborations in the not too distant future.
