Delegates of the College of Science (CSCI)’s Master’s programmes shared admission tips at the online information sessions held on 13 March 2025 and 20 November 2024. Current Master’s students and programme graduates also shared their learning experience at CityUHK with the prospective Mainland students.
Both sessions were moderated by Professor Denver Li, the College’s Associate Dean (Research and Postgraduate Education), and Professor Yu Chai, the College’s Mainland Recruitment Coordinator.
The second info session connected about 7,000 prospective students in the Mainland, with the below programmes’ delegates providing first-hand information on the curricula, unique features, and admission tips of their related programmes:
- Professor Zhanxi Fan, Deputy Programme Leader of MSc in Chemistry;
- Professor Qi Liu, Deputy Programme Leader of MSc in Physics with Data Modelling and Quantum Technologies.
Mr. Xingyu Chen, a current MSc in Applied Physics student, recorded a video to share about his life at CityUHK and in Hong Kong, for example, his teachers and the campus facilities at CityUHK. The audience was quite interested in our newly structured MSc in Physics with Data Modelling and Quantum Technologies, therefore Professor Liu explained in detail, especially the English requirements.
In the first info session, Professor Chenchen Mou introduced the MSc in Financial Mathematics and Statistics. Joining him as speakers in this session were Professor Fan; Professor Liang Dai, Programme Leader of MSc in Physics with Data Modelling and Quantum Technologies; and two current students. Mr. Yifan Cui, an MSc in Chemistry graduate who is now pursuing PhD study in the same department, talked about valuable experience in programme application and research practice, as well as handy tips for living in Hong Kong. Mr. Enhao Shao, a current student in the MSc in Applied Physics programme, also joined this session. He was glad that the College of Science provides lots of activities for students to broaden their horizons, for example, he joined the educational excursion to BIEL Crystal’s manufacturing facility in Huizhou last October.
The chat box was overwhelmed with questions raised by the audience throughout the Q&A part of both sessions. Prospective students were encouraged to email related departments directly for more admission information about each programme.
Video recaps of the information sessions are now available. Seize the chance to apply for the programmes before the deadline.
