The Vancouver Summer Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) offers students a unique opportunity to enhance their educational journey and broaden their global perspective by immersing themselves in the vibrant academic environment of a prestigious Canadian university.
Throughout the one-month program, students will study two academic courses, each consisting of 39 hours of class time. By residing on the UBC campus, students will not only focus on the academic pursuits but also have many opportunities to engage in various social and cultural activities, fostering a holistic and enriching summer experience.

Duration
The Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) will run for one month, from 11 July to 11 August 2025.
Cost Estimate and Payment Arrangement:
- Application Fee: CAD 130
- Program Fee (Including Accommodation): CAD 6084
- Economy Airfare: HKD 10,000
- Total Cost: Around HKD 47,200
- 60% Sponsorship from College: HKD 28,300
Selected students will have to apply for direct admission to UBC. The final admission decision will be made by UBC. Upon successful completion of the VSP, students are required to submit relevant receipts and documents to the College Office for reimbursement. The College Office will reimburse up to 60% of the actual program cost on a reimbursement basis. It is advisable for selected students to apply for UBC admission early to allow sufficient time for visa processing.
Visitor Visa to Enter Canada
If you need a visa to enter Canada, it is recommended to apply for the visa or eTA (electronic Travel Authorization) promptly to avoid any unforeseen delays. Participation in the VSP does not necessitate a study permit; therefore, applicants should apply for a visitor visa as the program duration is less than 6 months.
Credit Transfer
Upon successful completion of the two academic courses, students will receive a certificate with grades from UBC. To apply for credit transfer:
- Provide course details to your home department.
- Your home department will review and approve the course(s).
- Submit the application form along with the UBC certificate to ARRO for processing.
- ARRO will confirm with your home department and notify you of the outcome.

Reimbursement Procedure for Expenses
Upon successful completion of the program, students must submit the following documents to the College Office for reimbursement:
- Grade Certificate from UBC (Passing all two courses is mandatory).
- A 1000-word Reflective Report (in English).
- Receipt for the Program Fee.
- Receipt for the economy air ticket.
- Boarding passes.
- 5-6 photos with captions.
- A 1-minute video with subtitles.
Please note that the submitted documents will be used for administrative and promotional purposes.
How to Apply
This Scheme is open to all undergraduate students of the College of Computing.
