Welcome to the College of Computing (the College) at the City University of Hong Kong (CityU). Our newly formed college has commenced operations on September 1st 2024.  Its establishment underscores the importance of computing in future developments, supporting Hong Kong’s educational and scientific advancement, positioning it as an international innovation and technology hub.

We aim to excel in computer science, data science and statistics, fostering collaborative research to develop advanced analytical tools and AI solutions for global challenges. We also strive to nurture a diverse international community, equipping students with the skills and mindset to drive impactful change across industries.

On the research front, our faculty are widely recognized in various fields of computing. According to Clarivate Analytics, the College is home to four highly-cited researchers who were among the top 1% in their fields, and in a report by Stanford University, 26 of our faculty members are in the top 2% of the world's most highly cited researchers. The transformational potential of computing is evinced by our faculty's success in large-scale collaborative grants, in both technology-driven and application-driven research areas.

On the teaching front, as part of CityU's internationalization strategy, the College provides overseas experiences for students, such as the joint bachelor’s degree programme with Columbia University.

The area of computing is ever changing and expanding within the dynamic 21st century landscape. The College is committed to be at the forefront in computing, nurturing its students and teaching the most recent computing breakthroughs, so as to unlock its tremendous potential for innovation and societal transformation.
