College of Computing Hosts Distinguished Seminar of Generative AI

College of Computing (CC) successfully held the 2nd CC Distinguished Seminar on 25 November 2024. The event featured an inspiring presentation by Dr. Wei Liu, a Guest Full Professor from the School of Computer Science at Fudan University, on the topic: What’s Next for LLMs and Generative AI Research.

The seminar attracted an audience of approximately 130 students and faculty members. During the talk, Dr. Liu introduced key concepts, paradigms, and applications of generative foundation models. He delved into various AI scenarios, including language understanding and generation, multimodal understanding and generation, text-to-image generation, text-to-3D generation, and text-to-video generation.

Dr. Liu further explored the frontier research directions and shared his thoughts on the future of generative AI, sparking deep reflection among the attendees.
