On 29 August, educators from Shatin Pui Ying College participated in a dynamic Teachers’ Development Day at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), focusing on enhancing teaching quality and fostering innovative learning experiences.

In his welcoming address, Professor Chi Hou Chan, Vice President (Community Engagement), highlighted the importance of adapting teaching methods to stay competitive in a rapidly changing environment.

“CityUHK and Shatin Pui Ying College share a common vision of nurturing future generations to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Together, we drive progress in education, preparing students with tools they need to navigate the challenges of tomorrow.” Professor Chan emphasized.

The day featured a keynote talk by Professor Steve Wong Hang on "Antenna: Beyond Communications and Innovating into the Future," exploring the innovative applications of antenna technology beyond traditional communication. This was followed by a session on CityUHK’s undergraduate flagship programmes, which are designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills, and cultivate their global leadership abilities.

Participants also visited the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution and the Lab Animal Research Unit, where they gained insights into the cutting-edge research and facilities at CityUHK. The event also included a guided tour of the exhibition "The Road from China to Europe – A Passion for Silk," offering a glimpse into the University’s integration of art, culture, and technology.

The Teachers’ Development Day provided an invaluable platform for educators from CityUHK and secondary schools to connect, learn, and explore new strategies for inspiring and engaging students.
