CityUHK fosters learning-centric and innovative education at Teachers' Development Day

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) welcomed 70 teachers from HKTA Tang Hin Memorial Secondary School for the Teachers' Development Day on 12 June 2024, sharing CityUHK's commitment to a learning-centric approach, with a focus on innovation and interactivity in education.

Professor Steve Wong Hang, Associate Vice President (Community Engagement), delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for a day of insightful talks and experiential learning. The programme featured discussions on digital learning advancements at CityUHK and the latest developments in smart materials. Participants toured the University's state-of-the-art labs, including the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution, State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, and Lab Animal Research Unit. The delegation also visited the exhibitions "The Road from China to Europe – A Passion for Silk" and "Notre-Dame (Re)births". These activities showcased the cutting-edge research capabilities of CityUHK and its dedication to cultural enrichment.

“This is a valuable opportunity for fruitful exchange with secondary school teachers. It does not only promote CityHK’s unique education experience but also leaves teachers with fresh ideas for promoting creativity and innovation in their teaching practices,” said Professor Wong.
