Distinguished scholars visited CityU School of Law
Professor Tong Zhiwei, Distinguished Professor, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics and Professor Guo Yanjun, Associate Dean(External Affairs), KoGuan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visited School of Law of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on May 4th. Acting Dean of School of Law of City University of Hong Kong Professor Lin Feng and Associate Dean Dr Ding Chunyan received them.
Discussions covered matters including student exchange, staff exchange, visiting students, and research collaborations, etc. The two sides looked forward to strengthening the collaborative relationship in legal education and research in the future.
On the same day, Professor Tong Zhiwei was invited by the Centre for Judicial Education and Research cum Identification of Hong Kong Law (JERI) and the Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law Studies (CCCL) of the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong to deliver a seminar entitled "Why China Needs a Practical Legal Discourse System" for discussion with faculty members and students. The topic of the seminar included the existing general theory of law in China, its main textual contents, and core contents. He also explained the basic structure, content and comparative advantages of the discourse system of practical jurisprudence.
廣東財經大學特聘教授童之偉教授和上海交通大學凱原法學院副院長(對外事務) 郭延軍教授於5月4日訪問了香港城市大學法學院。香港城市大學法學院署理院長林峰教授及副院長丁春艷博士接待他們。
雙方討論了合作課程協議、學生交流協議、教學人員交流協議、訪問生、研究合作、資助機會等方面的內容，雙方期待未來開展全面的學術合作和學生交流。
同日，香港城市大學法學院的司法教育與研究暨香港法律查明中心（JERI）及中國法與比較法研究中心（CCCL）邀請了童之偉教授發表一場題為「中國為什麼需要實踐法學話語體系」的學術研討會，與法學院師生進行了會談。會談主題包括中國現有的法的一般理論，其主要文字載體、核心內容。現有法的一般理論的學理基礎及其與中國法律實踐的契合程度，並講解實踐法學話語體系的基本結構、內容和比較優勢。
