Alumni in Singapore gather to celebrate CityUHK’s 30th anniversary

Alumni in Singapore gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) at an Alumni Reunion Dinner of the University held on 17 August in Singapore.

Professor Freddy Boey, President of CityUHK, together with Ms Pheck Choo Ng, Director of the Office of the President, and a team from the Alumni Relations Office, attended the dinner, which promoted closer ties between the University and alumni in Singapore. Close to 60 alumni participated in the joyous occasion celebrating the 30th anniversary of the University.

President Boey said he looked forward to innovating into the future with the dedicated alumni and wished them bright prospects. He gave an overview of the latest developments at CityUHK, including the establishment of CityUHK (Dongguan), the Academy of Innovation and the Institute of Digital Medicine, among other innovative and impactful projects. He added that CityUHK, recognised as the Most International University by Times Higher Education (THE) in 2024, was committed to expanding its global connections by establishing partnerships with esteemed universities worldwide to promote academic and scientific research collaboration. 

President Boey presented certificates of appreciation to the alumni organising committee (OC) for the reunion dinner. He took the opportunity to thank the OC members for their unwavering support in broadening CityUHK’s alumni network in Singapore, including establishing the “CityUHK Alumni Chapter in Singapore” going forward.  He also welcomed the alumni to participate in the “CityUHK Alumni Homecoming” to be held on 2 November by the University on the Kowloon campus to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the University.
