As part of the College’s Popular Science Talks series, Professor Daniel Ho, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education) and Dr Lam Yun Wah, Programme Leader of Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT), delivered two interesting talks for the Queen’s College on 26 May and 7 June 2022 respectively, attracting more than 120 Form 5 students.
Professor Ho visited the College to share with students an overview of the applications of mathematical science and the recent development of mathematics in network science, enlightening students with a new perspective.
For the online talk delivered by Dr Lam, he introduced the history of antibiotics and the challenges posed by antibiotic resistance, the talk was well-received by students.
The College of Science offers a wide range of Popular Science Talks for secondary school students delivered by our scientists. Interested secondary school teachers are welcome to request the talks to be delivered at your schools or online in view of the pandemic at your preferred time.
