What are my M365 Account Name (for logon), Password and Email Address?

1. Account Name - Your CityU Microsoft 365 (M365) Account Name is in the form of:

   EID-c@my.cityu.edu.hk

   where EID is your CityU Electronic ID.

   If your EID is "cctom2", your M365 Account Name is "cctom2-c@my.cityu.edu.hk".

   • "EID" is for web logon.
   • "M365 Account Name" is for setting up popular email client software (e.g. Outlook) or mobile device to access your M365 account.

2. Password - The Password of your M365 account initially is the one that you entered during activating your CityU EID when you are a new student.

3. Email Address - The Email Address of your M365 account is in the form of "EID-c@my.cityu.edu.hk".

4. Email Alias - An email alias is an additional name for your email account. All emails sent to the email alias are delivered to your M365 account. If you have registered an email alias for your M365 account, the Primary Email Address of your M365 account is "your-email-alias@my.cityu.edu.hk", and "EID-c@my.cityu.edu.hk" is your secondary email address of your M365 account.

   For example,

   • If your EID is "cctom2", and you have not registered an Email Alias, your M365 account Primary Email Address is "cctom2-c@my.cityu.edu.hk".

   • If you have registered an Email Alias "Tom.Chan" for your EID "cctom2", your M365 account Primary Email Address is "Tom.Chan@my.cityu.edu.hk", and "cctom2-c@my.cityu.edu.hk" is your secondary email address.

   • Note that you can receive email from both Primary Email Address and secondary email address.
