Research

The administration and management of the University’s High-Performance Computing Clusters (HPCC) had been transferred to the CSC in January 2020. The HPCC is now set up again to allow researchers to conduct computing intensive research projects in areas such as biomolecular simulation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistical analysis of large data sets, etc.

The new cluster is now managed through Lenovo Intelligent Computing Orchestration (LiCO) cluster management platform, which is a resource allocation manager for both HPC and AI workloads. It provides GUI interface to enable user to submit jobs by means of a browser as well as command lines via SSH. As in the arrangement previously announced, all the user accounts and data were not migrated to the new HPCC. Users who wish to use the HPC resources are required to submit their request for a new account again via online CSC work request.

Should you have any enquiries, please contact the CSC’s HPC Team at csc.hpc@cityu.edu.hk.
