Minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship
This minor aims to introduce engineering students to the fundamentals of technology-based engineering entrepreneurship. It will provide both the knowledge and skills to identify entrepreneurial opportunities from technological innovation and patents by staff or projects by students. The minor helps students to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative and systems thinking. It also helps students broaden their multi-disciplinary perspectives, integrating management, marketing, finance, and engineering. Students taking this minor will be encouraged to investigate social problems from the engineering perspective and provide technical solutions. Such a minor will present an alternative career path to engineering graduates from engineers to entrepreneurs, patent lawyers, or technology commercialization agents.
