STEM Challenge 2025
STEM Challenge is a project-based competition in which secondary school students team up to study a specific engineering topic. Under the supervision of CityUHK's professors and the facilitation of student mentors, the activity aims to develop students' active learning attitudes and critical thinking skills.
The STEM Challenge aims at:
- creating a learning environment outside the classroom for secondary school students
- increasing students’ interest and understanding of engineering
- helping secondary school students develop active learning attitudes & critical thinking skills through experimental projects
Eligibility of Teams:
- Secondary 1 to 5 students
- A team consists of 2-5 students & 1 secondary school teacher. The application must be coordinated by the teacher.
Subsidy on Project Consumables:
- Maximum of HK$3,000 per team
- to be reimbursed on an accountable basis (i.e. OFFICIAL RECEIPTS and REIMBURSEMENT CLAIM FORMS should be provided as supporting documents when applying for reimbursement)

Awards:
- Each participant will receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of all required assignments.
- A Certificate of Merit will be awarded to each member of the finalist teams.
- The Best Presentation Award winning teams will receive HK$1,500 gift vouchers and a trophy. Each member of the winning team will also receive a certificate.
Application:
Each team should submit an online application with a brief proposal. The proposal shall include the project title, abstract, objectives (in point form) and research methodology. The application must be coordinated by the teacher.

STEM大挑戰 2025
學生以小組形式進行專題研習。城大教授擔任項目顧問,並由城大學生以「學長」身份給予指導,培養學生主動學習和批判性思考能力
STEM 大挑戰旨在:
- 讓中學生在課室以外創造另一個學習空間
- 提高學生對工程的興趣及理解
- 幫助學生加強判斷及思考能力
參賽資格:
- 中一至中五學生
- 參賽隊伍由二至五位學生及一位中學老師組成。參賽表格須由老師遞交。
項目消耗品津貼:
- 每隊上限港幣3,000元
- 以實報實銷的方式發還津貼(申請報銷時應提供正式收據及報銷申請表作為證明文件)

獎項:
- 每位參賽者在完成所有必要的作業後將獲得成就證書一張。

- 獲得最佳演示獎的隊伍將獲得價值港幣1,500元的禮券和獎座一個。獲獎隊伍的每位成員也將獲得證書一張。
報名:
每團隊需要在網上報名。報名時要提交「精簡研究計劃」,計劃內容要包括:專題研習項目名稱、摘要、目標(請用列點形式展示)及研發方法。參賽表格須由老師遞交。
我們收到報名後,將以電郵回覆。
建議專題研習項目(學生亦可自行提出感興趣的研習項目,惟香港城市大學保留最終批核權。)
