Professor Michael TSIMPLIS visited Ningbo Maritime Court

On 28 May Prof. Michael TSIMPLIS visited Ningbo Maritime Court and delivered a keynote speech on “The Past and the Future of Ship Arrest: Global Economics, Local Needs and Sustainable Development.” The agenda for the event can be found at https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/cpzAFCtTT-9jvWgIlnN8xg. The talk presented results from the ongoing GRE research project “Improving Hong Kong’s Maritime Services: A Critical Assessment and Optimisation of Admiralty Enforcement Including Ship Arrest and Limitation of Liability Procedure”.

On 31 May, Prof. TSIMPLIS gave a presentation at the Shanghai Maritime University titled: “Can contract law spearhead the efforts to a sustainable shipping sector?”. Prof. Tsimplis has been visiting Shanghai to teach a course on the Principles of Insurance Law to the students of the East China University of Political Science and Law. Most of the students in this group will be visiting CityU as exchange students in Semester A 2024-25.
