City University of Hong Kong’s response to the Budget
The Budget announced today (26 February) by the Financial Secretary, which proposes a “reinforced version” of the fiscal consolidation programme based on the principle of fiscal prudence, addresses the current challenges effectively. As a part of Hong Kong society, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) understands the current situation and is prepared to work through these trying times together.
CityUHK will continue to promote innovation within its existing resources, leading the development and internationalisation of higher education, and ensuring a high-quality academic and research environment for faculty and students. Meanwhile, CityUHK will actively explore diverse sources of income and seek additional research funding. Furthermore, the University will continue to enhance operational efficiency by advancing digitalisation and optimising resource allocation. The University will also strengthen its collaboration with the business sector and seek support from various segments of society to create more development opportunities for its faculty and students.
