Jiangmen delegation visits CityUHK

On 19 March, a delegation from Jiangmen visited City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), where they met with CityUHK senior management and toured the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (SKLMP), gaining insights into CityUHK’s achievements and capabilities in the academic and research fields.
CityUHK warmly welcomed the Jiangmen delegation. Exchanging views with the delegation during their visit were President Freddy Boey, CityUHK President and University Distinguished Professor, Professor Leo Chan Lai, Associate Director of the SKLMP, Professor Goh Chin Foo, Director of the Knowledge Transfer Office, and Ms Sng Jing Li, Director of the Office of the President.
The delegation, led by Mr Chen Anming, Secretary of the CPC Jiangmen Municipal Committee, included Mr Zheng Zehui, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jiangmen Municipal Committee, Mr Ling Chuanmao, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jiangmen Municipal People’s Congress, Mr Cai Dewei, Secretary-General of the CPC Jiangmen Municipal Committee, Mr Liu Zhigang, Vice Mayor of the Jiangmen Municipal People’s Government, Mr Zheng Jinglong, Secretary of the CPC Taishan County-level Committee, Mr Han Zhiyong, Standing Vice Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Jiangmen Municipal Committee, and Ms Liu Changhong, Director of the Jiangmen Science and Technology Bureau.

During the meeting, CityUHK introduced the University's latest developments and achievements in the academic and research fields, and the delegation shared information about Jiangmen's academic environment and development advantages. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on innovation, research and development, and nurturing talent, and explored potential opportunities for future collaboration.
The delegation also toured the SKLMP, gaining a deeper understanding of CityUHK's research strengths in the marine environment and the University’s achievements in promoting sustainable development in Hong Kong, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the rest of mainland China.
