CityUHK establishes further partnership with the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember
City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has cemented new connections with three renowned universities in Indonesia since the July visit to Indonesia. On 5 November, CityUHK and the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to solidify their commitment to fostering comprehensive collaboration in academic exchange, showcasing CityUHK’s dedication to expanding its global collaboration with leading universities in neighbouring countries and regions. This contributes to positioning Hong Kong as an international hub for post-secondary education and building the “Study in Hong Kong” brand.
A delegation led by Professor Bambang Pramujati, Rector of ITS, visited CityUHK to attend the MoU signing ceremony. The MoU was signed by Professor Freddy Boey, CityUHK President, and Professor Pramujati. The aim of the MoU is to enhance the mobility of postgraduate and undergraduate students, facilitate the exchange of academic, research and administrative personnel, foster teaching and research collaboration, and promote the sharing of joint research results and exchange of institutional publications.
“ITS and CityUHK share the mission of responding to societal and technological changes. ITS’ mission to become an entrepreneurial university by 2035 aligns with CityUHK’s commitment to innovation and enterprise,” said President Boey.
He also said that CityUHK has the largest Indonesian student community among Hong Kong’s public universities, most of them studying engineering, business or computing. CityUHK is committed to providing comprehensive support for all non-local students and creating an inclusive environment for them.
Members of the delegation from ITS included Mrs Dewi Bambang Pramujati, Head of ITS Women Association; Dr Imam Baihaqi, Vice-Rector of Human Resources, Organization, and Information System Technology; Professor Agus Muhammad Hatta, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni; and Mr Vidian Ade Mauludi, Staff of Global Engagement.
