CityU forges ties with Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission
An agreement signed between City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission (BMSTC) will promote technology exchanges and cooperation, enhance innovation and technology capacity and advance the commercialisation of technology.
The agreement was signed by Professor Paul Lam Kwan-sing (upper photo, front row, 3rd from left), Chief-of-Staff at CityU, and Ms Yan Aoshuang (upper photo, front row, 2nd from right), Director of BMSTC, at a ceremony in Hong Kong on 28 November.
The agreement also signifies closer cooperation between CityU and BMSTC in equipment sharing, research and development as well as testing; promotion of knowledge transfer among the research organisations and enterprises between Hong Kong and the mainland; and the possibilities for establishing business incubation platforms and funds.
The signing ceremony was one of the key events during the 19th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium. Mr David Ai Chuan, Director of Knowledge Transfer at CityU, delivered a talk at the symposium on how closer Beijing-Hong Kong cooperation can help realise the vision for Beijing to become a national innovation and technology centre.
