Lulu Wu Lok-man (1st from left, front row, top photo), a Year 3 student of the Department of Applied Social Sciences and captain of the karatedo team, achieved remarkable results, winning two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in Team Kata, Team Kumite, Individual Kumite Under 61kg and Individual Kata competitions, respectively.
“The competition was arduous and some of the rules in mainland China are different from those in Hong Kong,” Lulu said. “But when controversial judgments occurred, each member respected the spirit of sport and obeyed the referee’s judgment. I would like to give special thanks to Ms Rebecca Lai Yuk-lan (4th from left, back row, top photo) of Student Development Services, our coach Mr Yuen Siu-lun (5th from left, back row, top photo), and all the members of the karatedo team.”
