Two academic staff members of City University of Hong Kong, Professor Gerard McCoy and Dr Joseph Kwok, are on this year's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Honours List in recognition of their valuable contributions to Hong Kong and dedicated community service.
Professor McCoy, an Adjunct Professor in the
School of Law, is to be awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star for his valuable contribution to revolutionizing the system of law reporting in
Hong Kong and thereby significantly advancing the quality of justice. He has also advanced legal horizons through his writings and editorships.
Dr Kwok, Associate Professor in the
Department of Applied Social Studies, is to be awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star for his long and meritorious public and community service, particularly for his valuable contribution and dedication in the development of
Hong Kong's rehabilitation services and in promoting the achievements of
Hong Kong in this area at the international level.
The Chief Executive will confer awards to a total of 273 people on this year's Honours List, including 7 Gold, 20 Silver and 38 Bronze Bauhinia Star recipients. The Presentation Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for October.
