On the morning of 17 March,
Professor H K Chang, President, extended a gracious welcome to a delegation of special guests from the Office of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of China in the Hong Kong Special Administration Region led by Commissioner Mr Yang Wenchang ; other members include Ms Jiang Qin, Director-General (Department of International Organizations and Conferences); and Mr Tian Qi, Deputy Director of the Office of MFA.
Following an introduction to CityU, President Chang led the delegation on a tour of the
Wireless Communications Laboratory,
School of Creative Media and
Chinese Civilisation Centre. The guests showed great interest in CityU's advanced research developments and innovative teaching methods. "CityU has a beautiful campus and the units we visited all have distinctive characteristics," Ms Jiang said.
Impressed by CityU's achievements and President Chang's knowledge, Mr Yang said his office would be pleased to facilitate extending CityU's liaison and cooperation with mainland institutions and organizations.
