The English Language Mentoring Scheme (ELMS) provides you with an opportunity to:

  • Communicate in English outside of the classroom
  • Improve your English competence
  • Meet people from different backgrounds
  • Make new friends in the University

Our Mentors and Mentees interact with each other in various ways, such as sharing meals together, playing games, or simply just having discussions on a variety of topics. Through the activities, you will develop your English communication skills in different social settings, learn to express yourself better, describe experiences, give appropriate responses and develop a wide range of vocabulary in social situations.

1st, 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate and Associate Degree students of UGC funded programmes are eligible to sign up for ELMS. The ELMS activities run from Week 4 to 11 in Semesters A and B. Each activity is 50 minutes. Please note that ELMS activities are not English Lessons.

Registration for ELMS opens in Week 2 of Semesters A and B. To register for a mentoring group, please complete this form.
