Richard Afandy
Richard Afandy, a 3rd year Global Business student from Indonesia, is here to share his semester exchange experience at the Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Let’s see how he adapted to the new study environment and made the most of his time in Europe!
“Currently, I’m on exchange at Bocconi University located in Milan, Italy. For me, this experience has been thrilling and amazing since it is the very first time I visit Italy. Although there are both administrative and mental preparation, I could definitely say all those struggles are worth it.”
“Here in Bocconi, the learning style and class environment is quite different from CityU, it provides me with new learning opportunities and in-depth understanding of different subjects, especially economics and finance, which this university is famous for. Most professors give you the flexibility to learn the subject at your own pace. Class learning activities are conducted two times per week with weekly reading regularly before classes for some courses to get you prepared for the session. There are also a lot of guest lectures in various courses, introducing different industries and giving insights through direct interaction with students.”
“Apart from studying, I get to experience a new culture and meet lots of new friends. Milan is a great base for you to explore the other regions as most places are reachable within a few hours by train or plane. I tried to make the most out of my weekends and breaks by travelling to almost 10 different cities in different countries across Italy and Europe! And all I could say is that this would not be possible if I did not sign up for a student exchange programme at CityU.”
“My favourite thing about Italy so far is obviously their authentic Italian cuisine. Indeed, Italy has so much to offer in terms of leisure activities and natural scenery. I'm very happy to share more details with you, so feel free to reach out to me about my exchange experience!”
